Post Battlefield 5? or 1944? or 1945? or Cold war? Or vietnam etc
I truly belive that Battlefield 5 will take place in the past. I hope that it will take place in 1944 or 1945, cause there are some really big and complex battles that were fought in Europe and Asia at that time.

World at war was pretty mutch the last pure game set in a WW2 world. Is has been 7 years now.

We have had some immersion of WW2 themes, like in for example Black ops 2 zombies, or sniper elite.

But not any pure first person shooter games has been made in a WW2 setting, with the technology that was back then

The markedet for futuristic games are way over saturated now. Even people gaming COD AW want to go back to the WW2.
Cant imagine how many battlefield players that want to go back to. most likely every battlefield player that have played any BF set in the WW2.

We are still awaiting more games set in the future. This is will be top of the mountain, before we go down, were the changes will be made.

Futuristic games are dying out the same way WW2 games did.
If you cant go further in the future, what is the most natural way to go then?

Past.

But then again. 10 years ago, the audience for almost every game was 16+
Now in 2015, even 10 year olds have access to every platform and are allowed to game as a grown ups.

The age limit does not count anymore. Making the audience younger, making the marked for games a bit different.

I think the marked for first person games are over saturated by present day games and futuristic.
Sure there are many more who thinks the same.

I am thinking of creating an account at survey monkey. Same as DICE used when they communicated with the community.
And find out, how many who want to have a battlefield game with a past setting.

BO3 will be the last game I buy, cause it has zombies. But I dont think I will buy anymore games based in the future. I am tired of playing games like that.
Even present day games are getting really boring.

SWBF will be fun for a change I guess, but at least you cant run on freakin walls there.

I'd love for a new World War era game. Missed them for sure.

Be cool to see what they can do with the tech they have now.

Same thought runed by me 2.

Insted of getting a AC-130 with restrictions, why not take off in a B-17 American fortress and bomb the hell outta the enemy bases and positions while you control the plane?

A game made in a past setting, for example WW2, will be way more primitive compared to the complex games we have today with all the attachments, weapons, etc.

A game made in a WW2 era will be more primitive, not have that many options, and will be more simpler.
Red dot sight? HA! Noooo, Old fasion aiming is what counts here.
Ohhh, so you wanna snipe from a 1000 meters distance? Well, good luck with that with an 6x Scope.

I imagine myself that a WW2 game, will provide more fun, in many simple ways, also due to less ''coding'' are needed, cause there are no barrels, red-dot sights, no potato grip, etc etc.

With todays tech, we could easily be allowed to control big bomber planes like B-17, we could easily control smaller battleships.
Let the mothership be out in the sea for one team, and main land is spawn for the other team.

Just can't see it happening.

I reckon more apocalyptic and futuristic.

As we talked about yesterday, Battlefield Primal!

Anyways, yes, a new era could be fun again. Not sure about the over saturated part though, people are still buying these games.

Sorry G but really dont think this will happen. The people who really want this are already catered for on PC with games like heroes and generals.
Battlefield might originally be a PC game but over the years we have seen it get more and more console friendly, trying to get the COD guys over and I think it would be too much of a risk for them to throw in a WW2 game with stripped down features. Players have come to expect a huge level of customisation and i for one wouldn't like to see that gone. It keeps me interested! Trying out all different load outs to see which one suits my play style.
Personally I hope its 2143 and they bring back the mechs so we can fight in big robot's gundam style

Past, present, future... If the game has good shooting mechanics(this part is very subjective :D), interesting maps and a lot of customization when it comes to weaponry and character, I am in!

As long as it is not set in the future. That was what ruined COD for me.

Present day or past, I don't care. Just don't create a game where the state of the world is completely fabricated.

Only way to get me onto that train, is to have zombies included :P
If the game industry goes any further into the future. Then fuck it... I can never play a game that I have no interest in.

Yes they are, yut also allot more want something different again. Like a battlefield 1944.

But the only way they will go back in the past, is if the sales statistics goes down, or if someone makes a ww2 games that draws every player on every platform.

Dont think they care about those who types the most, how mutch people want back in the past.
In the end of the day, its all about the $ for game developers.

This is exactly why they should go back to ww2 era. It's really not that hard to see how they want COD players to come over to BF.
Compare BF4 to BF2 and you will see a huge difference in how the game is setup, size of the maps and how people played it.

BF is becoming more and more COD. Unless you are a part of a clan or are in the same session as friends in BF4, there is NO way you will experience any teamwork with your blueberries.
It happens now and then, that a blueberrie actually do teamwork.

I fear for the future of battlefield. Mainly because battlefield is one of a kind game. No other games provide what battlefield does in that scale.

Would be very sad to see battlefield become call of duty.

I'd love to see a WWII era BF5, but like the others mentioned above, I doubt it will happen.

tbh, I don't care what era it is as long as the game is fucking epic!
