This patch looks pretty awesome. I'll jump on later to play the new map & see how the patch works.

There's lots of jet changes.

Had a quick blast of BF4 with the new patch & map.

Love it.

Feels great & the map is one of the best.

I'll be back on a little later...just need to eat

Haha yea peacer just told me about this. So glad I'm lazy and never put the effort in before :mrgreen: Apparently the new map comes with a poisoned tip as well.

The new map... It was okay. It wasn't that massive amazing awesome map we hoped for. It's a bit too crowded with 64 players and it feels like a compromise. It's feels like a map that could have been made for China Rising in miniature. Without the tanks and LAV it might have been better.

I like the patch except one thing: WTF did they do to my C4!?!?

new map: mediocre but good for a change. appears to me that it's a china rising map, but one decent enough to enjoy (well aside from silk road). .

whilst playing the range is barely noticeable to me. what stood out was the fact that it took 4 c4 to take out an AMTRAK.

Damage reduced. With its throw distance and the absence of reactive armor blocking damage, it was too easy to destroy vehicles with. Increased time to resupply as well.
Blast damage reduced to 400 from 500
Inner blast radius reduced to 1m from 2m
Blast radius reduced to 4m from 5m

No longer usable as anti tank tool. I don't like that one bit... Ah well, no more C4 and more claymores then.

To get around the C4 resupply nerf run the perk which allows you to chuck 2 ammo boxes down (indirect fire). This will cut in half the resupply time and will also help out Engi's with the resupply of rockets which imo has been well over nerfed.

The map is pretty damn good. As far as CQ goes at least. I really don't think the vehicles are much of an issue, with the many rocks and miniature hills scattered around the map I found it very easy to ambush and run away from tanks/LAVs. The temple, B objective, is one of the most fun obj to take. It is always crowded inside the temple and on the two hills facing the front of the temple. Had some really fun gun battles and killstreaks fighting for that objective.. Reminds me of all the parking garage type objectives, multiple levels and areas to hide and run and mostly close quarters.

Complaints, I am beyond pissed off that they changed C4. I do not, for the life of me, understand why after 2 years they have decided to COMPLETELY change the dynamic of C4 and the CLASSES that use C4. One of the only things that made Recon and Support effective was the ability to set C4 traps and destroy vehicles. Now if they had done something to get rid of Jihading, then great, but to absolutely change the way you can use the equipment has pissed me off and left me with few options for Anti-Vehicle outside of Engineer. It takes 3 C4 to destroy an LAV. If they have Reactive Armor it takes 4. I also noticed that it now takes close to 3-4 minutes of sitting by an ammo crate to get your 3 C4 back. Absolute bullshit... Not to mention the complete middle finger they have given to me and the other players who spent FUCKING HOURS completing the phatom assignments to get the bow. I mean I can get over it, don't get me wrong, but it definitely rubs me the wrong way. Overall, I am getting so tired of BF4 and cannot wait to start on another shooter.. Hopefully one that doesn't require me to completely change the way I play towards the end of the games lifecycle....
